Fly Amero releases CRACKED COUNTRY CHRISTMAS
While touring with the classic pop group Orleans and performing solo, Fly Amero happens to have a long history as a comedy music writer and producer.
For 10 years starting in the mid-1980s, he was a staff writer with ABC Radio National, creating and recording topical music parodies and morning commuter broadcast comedy bits monthly for over 200 ABC satellite affiliates across the United States.
Around that time, Fly became co-writer and co-producer of Atlantic Records’ gold album TWISTED CHRISTMAS, which featured the classic “12 Pains of Christmas”, played heavily on seasonal radio airwaves in most English-speaking nations around the globe each year.
Three “Twisted” sequels followed for Atlantic:
I AM SANTA CLAUS
MORE TWISTED CHRISTMAS
CHIPMUNKS ROASTING ON AN OPEN FIRE
With CRACKED COUNTRY CHRISTMAS, Amero says his wish is to keep that same “nuttiness” alive – only in a COUNTRY way, with songs like “My In-Laws Made An Outlaw Out Of Me” (the story of a holiday family visit gone wrong), “Santa Smells Like Daddy’s Glass of Beer” and “Don’t Serve Beans (On Christmas Night)“.
