ORLEANS, Co-founder and “The Voice” of Mega-hits “Dance with Me” and “Still the One” Schedules South Florida Meet-And-Greet
CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (April 27, 2009) – Vocalist, Songwriter, Producer, and Recording Artist, Larry Hoppen, of the classic American band Orleans will be at the Paul Green School of Rock Music in Coral Springs on Saturday, May 16, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Come talk and rock with Larry and hear all about his real life experience as a nationally and internationally touring musician for over 35 years.
In addition to a special live performance Hoppen will be signing autographs and talking to students and fans.

Hoppen is a founding member of the band Orleans — he’s considered “the voice” of the group. Orleans is widely -known for their hits “Still the One” and “Dance with Me.” Hoppen released his first solo album in 1996, “The Unherd’s Looking for the Light,” and “HandMade” in 1998. He has toured and/or collaborated on numerous projects with artists such as Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Levon Helm, Livingston Taylor, Lulu, Graham Parker, Blues Traveler, Ricky Skaggs, Steve Wariner, Michael Franks, Michael Brecker, Chet Atkins, Artie Traum, John Sebastian, Bela Fleck, and a variety of others.
Current projects include a third solo CD, a newly released Orleans DVD / CD, and the CD “Time and Tide” with the Robbie Dupree Band. Larry also tours globally with Robbie Dupree, Orleans and RPM – Rock & Pop Masters. Additionally, Hoppen is the author of “A Career in Music: How to Stand a Chance,” released in early 2006. Hoppen shares his real life experience about the essential ingredients you need besides talent to survive and flourish using your own musical talents in any era. The book is fun, very easy to read and a must-have for anyone who thinks they ‘want to be a star’ or simply a Player in the world of popular music.
Hoppen and his wife Patricia co-founded Sunshine for HIV Kids in 1993, and all of profits from Hoppen’s CD sales and all monies earned go directly to the organization. Hoppen lived and recorded in Woodstock for nearly 30 years before relocating to Florida in 2000 with his family.
