1. Holiday Gifts for YOU!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa (did I leave somebody out?)

Regardless of one’s specific religious/spiritual heritage, this time of year seems to bring out the best in people … all that gift-giving and good will towards men (and women) stuff!

Hey — works for me! So … In that spirit, here are a few offerings from us to you!

The Secret!

Thoughts are things!

Now, this is REALLY interesting … to me, anyway. And it will be to you, too, if you have any intuitive sense of the power of the Law of Attraction … and wish to use it to best advantage to enhance your own life and the lives of others in the here-and-now.

Watch the trailer, cruise the site, read the synopsis, spend $4.95 and set aside 90 minutes to watch“The Secret”. You’ll be all the richer for the experience!

Maybe even apply that $4.95 towards purchasing the DVD. And FYI — we don’t make a dime for sharing “The Secret” with you. I’ve been giving “The Secret” DVDs as gifts all year long. Watch it and see why!

2. S.A.S.S Fundraiser Gig in Toronto

Now I’m going to ask YOU to give something … not to us, but to S.A.S.S — the School Alliance of Student Songwriters www.sasscanada.net

On January 20th, 2007, Orleans will be doing a fundraising show in Toronto to benefit this amazing and worthy organization. There is simply too much to say about the good work S.A.S.S. is doing with school kids in Canada — and soon in the US, too — and not enough room here to say it.

S.A.S.S. Mission Statement
The goals of S.A.S.S. are to support young people as they express themselves through songwriting in a safe environment. Joining forces with school boards, S.A.S.S. provides free guidance in the art of songwriting as well as opportunities to connect with other artists. Ultimately, S.A.S.S. challenges youth to make their world a better place through love and music.

Whether or not you can attend, would you please consider buying a ticket or 2 or more?

We thank you in advance on behalf of the S.A.S.S. founders and their 1000+ student singer/songwriters.

3. Updates on …

Orleans DVD in post-production now

Not too much to report on the first-ever “Orleans In Concert” DVD. We are still on target to be ready for release some time in the first quarter of 2007… and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

The Orleans/PBS Connection

Charlie Morgan, Manuel Quintana

Many of you know that Orleans taped 4 tunes last May at Belmont University here in Nashville, for a PBS TV fundraiser special entitled “70s Soft-Rock Celebration”. There is still no  firm air date, but we hope it will be Spring as opposed to Fall 2007.

A similar production is already further along in that process for Larry’s “other band”, RPM (www.RPMConcerts.com “All Hits, All the Time”) and has been targeted for airing in the Florida market some time in January 2007.

SONY/BMG CD Release

Orleans will have a CD released by SONY/BMG in their “Extended Versions” series some time in 2007. This is a budget line (only $6.98) of 10 live recordings by the artist.

Since we already have two Live CDs, we want to be sure to make this new one as different from them as they are from each other.

To that end, Larry has been busy revisiting the archives to come up with previously unheard versions of some pretty obscure tunes — like stuff from the “Analog Men” CD (only released in Japan) coming from the Laser Disc of our 1991 tour of Japan. We also have cuts from Orleans Live Volume 2 (only 500 ever printed and long ago sold out). Plus, we will have cuts from the new DVD that can’t make it on to the 2-hour disc.

So, we have PLENTY of “new” stuff to put on this SONY release! Cool! Needless to say, we’re pretty jazzed about it! Stay tuned for more info.

4. Gigs?

The next Orleans date on the books at the moment will be in Toronto, Canada on January 20th, 2007. (See #2 above) This is a fundraiser for a wonderful organization called S.A.S.S. — School Alliance of Student Songwriters. www.sasscanada.net

We also have a trio show (Larry, Lance & Fly) on February 3rd in Jupiter, Florida at The Maltz Theater. The details of this, like all gigs, will be posted on the Touring page of www.OrleansOnline.com as we get closer to it.

We have just added a date at Foxwoods Casino in eastern Connecticut on Tuesday, Feb. 13th.

Last and certainly not least, Orleans will be taking a trip to St.Thomas, V.I. to play a “Dancin’ in the Moonlight” show on February 17th. Be there or be square!

Larry and our manager, Andy Broady, have just come back from the big convention in Las Vegas with many promising prospects for 2007 gigs!

Please check www.OrleansOnline.com/TourDates.html
periodically for updates about live shows.
As for me —

Still waiting for the green light go-ahead for the BIG project I have been working towards for months now with my good friend and co-writer, Shawn Gallaway. You can check him out at www.ShawnGallaway.com Still looking good, but I’ll wait until it’s closed to unveil what’s behind this particular curtain.

Meanwhile, check out this promo video with Felix Cavaliere that I happened to be around for … while Felix’s long-time bassist and my buddy, Mark Prentice, was off with Olivia Newton John

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nr9-aIRB86s

I sent this out to a short list of my friends and got a LOT of compliments on “my playing”. Ah, but here’s the rub!

This is all lip-synced to the tracks on Felix’s live album from 2000 and is actually Mark’s playing and high harmonies! All I supplied was the body for the video. 🙂

Kudos to Mark Prentice for great chops and tone!

———————————————

OK. That’s more than enough for one sitting.

All of us here at Orleans wish you and yours a very Happy Holidays Season!

Best wishes for wherever your path may lead you,

Lance Hoppen
(on behalf of all of Orleans)
