1. What’s Been Going On???
Hurray! The Summer gigs have started! I was just about to go stir crazy!
In May there was just a trickle from the gig faucet — “The Egg” in Albany, NY (withEdgar Winter Group) and Dane County Coliseum Grounds in Madison, WI — but there’s more where they came from. (see #3). Great to see some Woodstock faces in Albany and a special thanks to fans Steve and Becky Eberly for volunteering to man the merch booth in Madison.
Having done all the required research, we are just about to dive in to the creation of a brand new Orleans website, keeping the best of what we have and adding as much fan-friendly interactive interest as we possibly can. (see #4)
2. Updates on …

live CD on Sony/BMG
Scheduled for release in June
10 New Tracks from the upcoming DVD

SONY/BMG CD Release
Orleans will have a CD released by SONY/BMG in their “Extended Versions” series. Originally promised for May, this will certainly be out in June, 2007. We’ve seen and approved the final artwork/copy for the CD package, so THIS IS IT!
This is a budget line of 10 live recordings by the artist. We decided to use this opportunity to release 10 tracks from the soon-to-be-released DVD as audio-only. That way, the public at large will be exposed to our most current work and YOU will be able to have most of the DVD music to play in your car, etc.
Although you should be able to find it at WalMart, etc. we are trying to acquire as many copies as we can ASAP, so we can offer them to you right off the site. Stay tuned!

Also to be released on Sony/BMG?
Orleans “We’re Still Havin’ Fun” DVD!
The first-ever “Orleans In Concert” DVD is DONE. However, we are still seeking the proper distribution home for it. BOTH the DVD and the CD, separately and as a set, will eventually be available for purchase at OrleansOnline.com but, for now, it’s still “in the can”. Sorry. We’ll remedy that ASAP.
PBS “My Music” Concert Series
Many of you already know that Orleans taped a segment for PBS last May, to be part of the “70s Soft-Rock Celebration” show in their “My Music” series of fundraisers. Well, the long wait is nearly over. PBS will begin airing the show in August. More details as we get them!

4. New Website Coming
Due to some functional limitations at our current site (discussed in last month’s newsletter), we find ourselves faced with the opportunity to create a whole new one! We’ve spent the last couple of months investigating options and have arrived at what we think is the best way to go.
Over the next few weeks, behind the scenes, we’ll be building a new fan-oriented, fan-friendly, interactive website … full of as many features we can concoct to give YOU, our fans, the most fun possible. After all, our mantra is “We’re still havin’ fun”, is it not? So, how can we help YOU to still be havin’ fun, too?
That’s what we’re setting out to discover and implement. Hopefully, by this time next month, we will already have unveiled the all-new OrleansOnline.com experience!
Now, more than ever, there will be reasons to be on our email list. So, please, tell your friends that Orleans is still havin’ fun … and so can they!

Larry responded in writing to interview questions posed by writer/reviewer Eric Abrahamsen. The result is a very long and winding insider’s view of the history of Orleans, from start to finish. The article can be found at
We found that someone had put up a reasonable (but flawed) attempt at describing our journey on Wikipedia. We fixed that 🙂
As for me —
Good thing I’ve just finished my kitchen cabinets restoration project, ’cause I’m going to have my head down, slaving over a hot computer, as point-man for the development of the new website for the next few weeks. Wish me luck … and thank God for gigs to break me away from this keyboard!

OK. That’s more than enough for one sitting.
Best wishes for wherever your path may lead you,

PS — please forward this to ALL of your friends, so they may choose to sign up and receive “the good stuff”, too! (see the one-click function at the top of this email)
