Thanks … just thanks!
It’s Thanksgiving Day here in the US. A day we set aside to proclaim and celebrate our gratitude for that which we have … or even what we don’t have … or just the fact that we’re still standing. Even in these generally tough times for all, there IS so much to be grateful for.
I ran across this quote —
“The single greatest thing you can do to change your life today would be to start being grateful for what you have right now. And the more grateful you are, the more you get.” — Oprah
And it follows that the more you get, the more you can give. She should know.
In the spirit of giving, I’m going to offer up a very special song to you all, our fans and friends, without whom none of this would be possible for us. It’s not from Orleans, but rather from one of my very most favorite people on the planet … someone who embodies the spirit of giving and gratitude.
His name is Bob Halligan. I know he’s reading this, and I hope he will forgive me for freely sharing his intellectual property. But it is SO appropriate and NEEDED on this day, that I feel compelled to do so even before gaining his permission.

Bob is the genius singer/songwriter/performer/Soul behind the inspired music of Ceili Rain (pronounced kay-lee). This is some of the most fun, uplifting and heartfelt music you will EVER hear, and I encourage you to visit their site and buy up as much Ceili music as you can for yourself and your loved ones. It’s THAT good!
Meanwhile, also in the spirit of giving, please check out the Tour Dates page and see about the Hoppen Family Holiday Show that Larry is spearheading in his home town of Sanford, FL to raise money for the local food bank.
While there, you’ll notice that Orleans is also doing 2 shows in North Carolina for the Salvation Army. If you are anywhere these localities, please come and participate in the giving and receiving of it all.
Lastly, if you are anywhere near Nashville, TN, you will kick yourself if you miss the Prentice Family Christmas Show. Mark and Michelle Prentice, besides being dear friends and fabulous musicians, have a whole family-full of talent that will hit the stage on Dec. 10th, 11th and 12th.
There is much more to report. New music on the way from Orleans. I apologize for not being more communicative lately. Let’s keep in touch!
Lance Hoppen
for the entire Orleans Ground Crew
